Youth Therapeutic Mentoring

Therapeutic mentoring is a supportive, relationship-based service designed to help youth and adolescents improve emotional regulation, life skills, communication skills, and the ability to make healthy decisions. A therapeutic mentor works one-on-one with your teen, but this service does not have to be provided in an office setting. Mentoring can happen at the coffee shop, going for a walk, the museum, and/or other appropriate locations. This service is not psychotherapy, but it is therapeutic in nature. It focuses on real-life application of skills through guidance, modeling, and consistent support. I created this option within my practice to help address the youth mental health crisis and make therapeutic support more accessible and affordable for families. I currently accept children and adolescents ages 10-17.

Goals of Therapeutic Mentoring:

•Emotional regulation and distress tolerance

•Communication and expression of feelings

•Self-esteem and identity development

•Coping with anxiety, depression, and/or stress

•Social skills and peer relationships

•Executive functioning (organization, follow-through, responsibility)

•Healthy boundaries and decision-making

•Accountability and positive behavior change
